THE DIGITAL WORLD
Server Continent
A large continent to the south of File Island. It is the largest continent in the Digital World, but not the oldest.
Nigh Plains
A wide region of grasslands and forests. Circuit County lies between it and the Net Ocean. Not very many towns or villages here, although there are a small handful on the western side. Mostly home to beast and animal Digimon.
Host Forest: Relatively uninhabited. Grey Manor lies somewhere near the north edge. Signposts and vending machines are common here, although they are old and the vending machines don’t work.
Vast Plateau: Swathes of grassland for as far as the eye can see, broken up only by lines of telephone wires. Prairiemon and Bitmon like to dig their burrows here.
Abandoned Outlet: A small, rundown convenience store on the border of Plugin Forest.
Plugin Forest: A jungle quite similar to Host Forest, but much more dangerous, and only partially due to the semi-sentient foliage. Naturally aggressive Digimon lie in wait in the trees and underbrush, waiting for victims to pass by.
Cableway: Sometimes cable cars will come to pick up passengers and take them to Circuit County, but its schedule is unknown.
Circuit County
Similar to Nigh Plains, but with much more woodland and less open clearings. Circuit River winds through the forest. Home to plant, animal, and a few aquatic Digimon.
Circuit River: A long river snaking through the trees. Many aquatic Digimon live in villages on its banks.
Circuit Falls: A collection of waterfalls that coalesce into a lake at the bottom of a cliff. Beware of rockslides!
Circuit Delta: Circuit River eventually makes its way to the Net Bay, where it spreads out into a delta. Unsurprisingly, many Deltamon live among it.
Otamamon Village: A village full of Otamamon near the Circuit River. A poor excuse for a village. Really more of a gathering of houses, as there are only a few here and there.
Hinterlands
South of Circuit County, farther in from the sea. A chaparral region, with only a few small sections of woodland here and there. Lots of mountains and mesas abound.
Frimon Village: An in-training village populated by Frimon, several miles from the base of Twister Mountain.
Twister Mountain: Tall, spiraling, and devoid of any trees, save for the small forest at the top. Barely anyone lives here.
Mesa Mainframe: A ginormous mesa on the opposite side of Twister Mountain from Circuit County. A town sits atop it, known simply as Mainframe City. The only way into the city is a gate to the east, guarded day and night by security guards.
Mainframe City: A large town set atop the Mesa Mainframe, and the main attraction of the Hinterlands. Known for its particularly expansive market streets, consisting mostly of arts vendors.
Power Plants: To the northwest of Mesa Mainframe are several power plants operated by insect Digimon. They’re not very welcoming, and don’t particularly care for strangers or visitors.
A Strange House: Separated from the Power Plants by miles of bare dirt, it seems as if there’s someone living here.
Remote Volcano
A volcanic region far away from any civilization, but there are some wild Digimon scattered throughout. Supposedly there’s an entrance near the base that leads to the inside of the volcano.
Firewall: The first section of Remote Volcano. Guarded by several fire Digimon. Security is tight.
Flame Gateway: The second section. Leads either to the Encrypted Tunnel or Fire Circuit. Lava lakes surround it, so be careful where you step.
Encrypted Tunnel: A tunnel that winds up and throughout the land and ends in an open area, called Sky High, far north.
Sky High: A flat, rocky opening at the end of the Encrypted Tunnel that overlooks the clouds far below, which gives it its name.
Fire Circuit: A winding pathway with several places to stop and look down at the churning lava below. Fortunately there are guardrails here to prevent falling.
Dragon's Trident: At the end of Fire Circuit the path forks into three smaller stretches. Several dragon Digimon live here. The middlemost pathway leads up to Asuramon’s Temple.
Asuramon's Temple: Asuramon lives and meditates here. He accepts visitors once every three days, and only once they have passed a series of tests.
Central Forest
The forest in the dead center of Server Continent. Very reverend and important. It is neutral territory; fighting there is the most heinous crime.
Server Tree: Known as the World Tree to some, and Yggdrasil to even fewer. A ginormous tree whose branches stretch far into the clouds above. Some believe it to be the host network of the Digital World, although its true purpose is unknown. Legend has it that high above in its branches perches its guardian Valdurmon, who will fight to protect it until its last breath.
Hallowed Hall: Where Piximon and his assistants reside. It is nestled up next to the base of the Server Tree, but not carved into it.
Hallowed Streets: A city within Starwoods, near Hallowed Hall. Many holy and fairy type Digimon live here, each working to take care of the Server Tree.
Drylands
The name gives it all away; just stretches of dry, cracked sediment, with very few dead bushes peeking up from the ground here and there. There are no sub-areas in this region, as it is practically devoid of life anyway, save for the few Undead Digimon who make it their home. Water and food are scarce, and anyone with half a brain knows to stay far away from this region.
Starwoods
A forest north of Central Forest. It is known and named for its wonderful views of the night sky; no matter the time of year, all of the currently visible constellations can be seen, if you can make them out through the trees. As it is a small forest, it has no sub-areas, and there is some debate over whether it can even be classified a region, but nobody cares enough to change it.
Under Forest
Northwest of Starwoods is a darker, thicker forest. At nighttime, the forest is practically as dark as if you were to close your eyes. Mornings here are always gray and foggy, and even when the sun is highest in the sky, barely any sunlight makes it down through the trees.
Dead Lake: A curious name indeed, Dead Lake is home to no dead bodies, as that is literally impossible, nor has anyone died near it, as far as any of the locals know. It sits in almost the dead center of Under Forest - perhaps that is where it gets its name.
Route Valley: A deep valley running west-to-east through the forest. Looking north atop the highest point, you can see the ocean off to the west if you strain hard enough. The slopes are steep and the forest still thick as ever; rockslides and fallen trees are common here, and travelers frequently complain about the elevation and how precipitous the hills are.
West Coast
Not an official region, but an important enough section of the Digital World to warrant its own title by its inhabitants. Oddly enough, West Coast encompasses both the west and north coasts of Server, as well as the northwest coast, of course. It’s an average coast in all regards; it’s got sand, sparse sections of grass, driftwood, and the ocean.
Northern Pier: The coastal town at the northernmost point of Server Continent, and coastal is meant in the literal sense; the town is practically built atop the water. There are restaurants, hotels, and other businesses, as well as a few apartment buildings and even some larger houses along the eastside. A ferry leaves at exactly noon every other day, heading north towards Southern Pier on File Island.
File Island
Smaller than Server and Folder, but it’s still big enough to grant it the designation of an official continent - that, and the fact it’s the oldest continent in the Digital World.
Infinity Highlands
One of the largest regions on File Island, and arguably the most notable. It comprises the eastern and southeastern areas of the continent, but its reputation precedes its borders.
Infinity Mountain: The second tallest natural landmark in the Digital World. Infinity Mountain stands high above the entirety of the continent, visible from most locations even on the foggiest of days.
Infinity Falls: A group of massive waterfalls cascading down from various points of Infinity Mountain. They lead into a series of rivers that wind around the base of a mountain, almost like a moat, and travel mostly through Native Forest, though a few go through Native Glade.
Native Forest: The most expansive forest of File Island, encompassing much of the eastern area of the continent.
Native Glade: Southwest of Native Forest is the similarly named meadow. There are no trees to be seen for miles, but similarly, very few hiding places for Digimon to live, and as such it is not a permanent home for many.
Coela Beach: The beach along the southeast of File Island. Many marine-type Digimon live here, and there are several fishing villages along the coast. Not very receptive to outsiders unless you have something to trade.
Southern Pier: The coastal town along the southern beach. Slightly further inland and slightly smaller than Northern Pier, but not by much. Tourists tend to ignore it in favor of File City, and as a result it’s not nearly as well-kept as Northern Pier, though this isn’t to say it’s rundown or shoddy.
File City: The largest city on File Island, and possibly in the entire Digital World. It is known across the continent and is an incredibly popular tourist destination. The Monitor Museum and Interface Library contain endless information about the history of File Island and the Digital World as a whole, and are frequented by traveling scholars from all over. Just don’t go poking around where you shouldn’t be.
Corroded Woodlands
A dark, gray forest of trees with no leaves and an unending fog that rolls in whenever it feels like it. The fog is so heavy that anyone who is caught unawares in the forest will find themselves lost within minutes. Most unfortunate souls who find themselves here end up going mad with the inability to escape, and spend the rest of their miserable days wandering in endless circles, trying to find a way out and failing. The mist is heavy enough to block radio signals, leaving those with phones or other communicative devices unable to even call their friends for help.
Toy Town
A town where several puppet and mutant Digimon reside. The buildings are all made out of what looks like giant building blocks and other toys.
Downtown Toy Town: The downtown area of Toy Town, with lots of shops and a few inns.
Toyhouse Playhouse: A giant house with all sorts of toys, games, and entertainment inside. Open 24/7, though not without a price.
Underground Playground: A small area on the north side of town that appears to be a play structure, complete with slides, monkey bars, and other such constructions. Not really underground, in either the literal or metaphorical sense. It’s just the only adjective that rhymed.
Dollhouse Village: A Primary Village located in the heart of the city. CatchMamemon watches over the eggs and babies here, making sure no harm befalls them.
Innovation Lands
The overarching name of the third largest region on File Island. This region is comprised of several different sub-areas that each relate somehow to machinery.
Factorial Town: A sprawling city home to a huge population of Digimon, mostly cyborg and robotic types. It doesn’t have much of anything that makes it particularly special, but its size makes it a good place for many to live or stay for even a short while.
Gear Savannah: A sprawling savannah to the northwest of Factorial Town. Covered in swathes of golden-red grass and broken up here and there by large gears, giving it its name. Prone to random bushfires caused by broken down machinery.
Drill Tunnel: An underground tunnel connecting Factorial Town to Urban Malfunction.
Captcha Gate: The only way to get into Urban Malfunction. In order to pass, you must verify that you are not a virus program by completing a captcha, which gave it its name.
Urban Malfunction: The center of the Innovation Lands. Inside are controls that can change the layout of the city. Although many of its residents are supposedly tech-savvy, it seems to be falling apart and very neglected. The vending machines here are also broken.
Dysfunct Factory: In the very middle of the Urban Malfunction is a factory that seems to have been abandoned a long time ago. Inside, its machinery is broken, but signs in Digimoji throughout the facility suggest that it once provided repairs for robotic Digimon.
Browser Jungle
A thickly wooded jungle home to a vast variety of plant and insect Digimon, particularly those of the carnivorous variety. Most Digimon here are wild, though there are a few buildings of note scattered throughout the region. Fortunately, none of the plants in this forest are dangerous or even just try to be.
Jungle Gym: A gym deep in the jungle, where Digimon of all kinds can come and train or test their mettle against others. It is run by Cherrymon, who rules with an iron (or wooded) fist.
Royal Base: Hidden deep within the jungle, it is home to Digimon of the Beemon species. It is very secretive, and is guarded day and night by Waspmon and CannonBeemon. Security is incredibly tight and outsiders are not allowed anywhere near it.
Database Ruins: The ruins of an old stone temple that once had access to the Digital World’s database. No one knows what happened to it.
Midnight Isle
A section of File Island to the northwest of Infinity Mountain. It is not an isle, merely a slight peninsula, but it is so vastly different from the surrounding areas that it is considered a metaphorical island. The sky during the day here is a deep violet shade, and the moon is always visible at night. Widely known for its nominal city, which is home to many clubs, bars, and ghost stories.
Midnight City: A large town at the center of the isle that boasts a glorified nightlife. Though the most interesting parts of the city are best experienced at night, it is welcoming towards daytime newcomers, and there are still several places to visit and things to do during the day.
Pop-Up Residence: A neighborhood that is rumored to be abandoned, yet full of ghost Digimon in the dead of night. The truth is just that its residents are nocturnal, having altered their sleep schedules to adapt to the nightlife of the city.
Flashy Theatre: A theater just outside Pop-up Residence. Rather than showing movies, it broadcasts video feeds from cameras stationed throughout the city, showcasing what the residents are doing at the current time.
Fluorescent Stadium: A coliseum where Digimon register to fight. Sometimes you might get swept up in the excitement and registered by someone else on accident.
Backdoor: A backdoor within the Haunted Forest that leads to different places depending on the time and day.
Haunted Forest: A forest surrounding Midnight City that is rumored to be haunted. Very few dare to enter it. Those who do aren’t the kind of Digimon you want to encounter.
Panoramic View
An area of File Island that’s technically too small to classify as its own region, but does not fit into any of the other surrounding regions, and thus is classified as its own anyways. A sweeping expanse of grasslands and fields, broken up here and there by small rivers and lakes whose surfaces shine almost like mirrors. It has a gorgeous view of all the surrounding areas, and on a good day you can even see File City from the right vantage point.
Below Zero
A freezing region where many ice-type Digimon live. Rarely anyone ventures here due to its cold temperature. The vending machines here work, but only sell cold water and cans full of ice. Aside from the few sparse towns and cities, there are very few buildings throughout the region.
Debug Tundra: Running along the lower edge of Below Zero is a stretch of tundra that several Digimon who are less inclined to freezing temperatures have made their home. It is still very cold here, and as such is barely a tourist attraction, but it somehow gets its fair share of visitors.
Network Floes: Large glaciers bordering the north sea of Below Zero. They never seem to be a particular point of interest.
North Town: A moderately sized town just a few miles south of the Network Floes.
Triumph Tower: A tall tower to the north, a few miles west of North Town. Supposedly it used to be a lighthouse.
Crypto Chambers: A chain of caves accessed from a hidden backdoor in Triumph Tower.
Server Desert
A large desert with more air conditioners and vending machines than the average desert. It is very hot, but standing in front of the scattered air conditioners can help a little. Home to many earth-like and desert-dwelling Digimon, as well as the occasional fire type.
Noise Storm: You can’t see a foot in front of you here. Supposedly the air conditioners once started working overtime and thus are constantly churning up sandstorms.
Overheat Dunes: It seems as if the air conditioners here have stopped working. If only the units in Noise Storm could be moved.
Step Steppe: Sometimes referred to as Stepstep. Still sandy, but with more grass than usual, though the grass is a pale brown color and dry as bone.
Oasis: A small hotel of sorts with a public pool to help combat the heat. Each room has an air conditioner, though there have been reports of visitors stealing air conditioners from empty rooms and bringing them into their own, often resulting in some rooms having less or more than the normal amount of one.
Folder Continent
A continent located in the western hemisphere of the Digital World. It’s considerably larger than File Island, but not nearly as big as Server.
Malware Harbor
A gloomy island in the Cyberspace Sea, far off the coast from Folder Continent. Mostly very foggy and desolate. Fishing is a popular pastime here and there are several fish stands. Vending machines sell desalinated ocean water. Home to any kind of Digimon, especially those of the aquatic variety.
Town Malware: The town is never called this by its residents. They simply refer to it as Malware Harbor, as there’s nothing else of note on the island anyways. Consists of a few shops and businesses, none of which accept payment of any kind, and a couple self-built houses along the outer edges.
Cape Malware: One of the many capes. There are some houses here and there, too far away from the town to be counted as part of it.
Inlet Cape: Home to many ex-pirates and their ships. Rumor has it that a famous pirate’s treasure lies somewhere on the ships…
Cache Cove: A cove along the shore of the Cyberspace Sea. Hidden treasures lie in wait within, but beware of aggressive Digimon looking to protect it.
Hidden Channel: Like its title suggests, it is a hidden channel along the beach. Home to several aquatic Digimon.
Bayou Village: A village along the banks of Hidden Channel where most of the Digimon along it live.
