“Go with the flow” is Flip’s personal life motto, no matter how ironic it may be. He doesn’t seem to take anything seriously, having a very relaxed and laid-back personality by default and rarely getting worked up enough to stop smiling and focus on what’s at hand. Things come and go and he just moves along with them. There’s very little he worries or stresses about, if anything at all, and likewise he does not voice any concerns… most of the time. If he thinks something to be a big deal, he will bring it up - but because he doesn’t think anything is a big deal, if he’s bringing up something that’s worrying him, it’s already too late for everyone involved. He seems oblivious to this fact, and is contrarily way too confident in his own abilities to handle threats, often leading to him biting off more than he can chew.

His whole “calm and collected” persona isn't necessarily a facade - he truly is that chill about things - but putting on an air of “I don’t care what happens because I can't change it anyways” allows him to avoid being asked any questions about current goings-on. This in turn lets Flip be able to see situations and people from a different perspective, seeing them go through personal moments that they wouldn't normally be so lax about others seeing. He doesn’t try to invade others’ privacy, but if they’re willing to let him listen in on their breakdowns, well, he’s going to be there to listen and help them through it… and also find out more about who they are, keeping that knowledge to himself and using it to better get to know them in future instances.

Flip’s mellow, easygoing nature can be a detriment at times - at many times, in fact. Being so calm about everything all the time has led to his emotions getting lost in translation on their way to the part of his brain that can recognize and analyze those feelings. When he’s sad or angry or worried, he has very little idea. He still feels those emotions, of course, but it’s hard for him to recognize in the moment that he is feeling them. His inability to assess threats is also muddled due to this, and he similarly cannot recognize that as well, believing that everything will be fine because it’s always been fine. It’s landed him in trouble more times than he can count, but just like with everything else, he takes it in stride and focuses on what’ll come his way next.

About

Flip was hatched as a Pichimon in a Primary Village located deep within Circuit County. It wasn’t located near any other town, and as a result, the sole Elecmon caretaker was overworked and constantly stressed with having to look after so many babies all on his own. With how many babies he had to care for, he didn’t have enough time to focus on each of them individually, and Flip was often overlooked. Being one of the smallest and physically weakest, Flip was bullied by some of the other babies, and Elecmon wasn’t aware of this. In response, Flip ignored the bullies and tried to act like they weren’t hurting him, even though they were.

Eventually the bullies left him alone, and he realized that if his facade worked then, it would work the rest of his life. When he evolved to Bukamon, he left the Primary Village and joined a small village full of other Bukamon near the Circuit Delta. Upon evolving again into Gomamon, he went off on his own once again, knowing that there was someone he was waiting to meet. He lived along the Circuit River for a while, though he was frequently bored and would often wander throughout Circuit County, taking care of the area and helping anyone who needed it. Throughout all this, he continued through his life masking his real feelings and pretending he was unaffected by everything around him, even when he really didn’t want to.
