Personality

Bold and adventurous, Dare is always looking forward to the next big event headed her way, sometimes being unable to wait for it to come to her and instead going and trying to find it herself. She has a lot of emotions that she feels every day, all the time, and she loves to express them! She can be very loud when she wants to be, and sometimes even when she doesn't want to be. Social cues can be a bit tricky for her to pick up on, and she has a hard time knowing when to tone it down or stop what she’s doing. She usually does so when she’s asked, although she often gets sarcasm mixed up with seriousness… and so if she doesn’t understand that she should stop, she’ll keep going on and on, thinking that it’s all a game.

Speaking of games, Dare absolutely loves joking around and teasing her friends, although as per prior, she tends to take things a little too far, getting caught up in the heat of the moment and forgetting to stay aware of the feelings of those around her. She means no harm by it, but though she has good intentions, sometimes her actions leave a negative impact on others - which leads to one of her biggest fears, namely the fear of hurting someone she genuinely cares for. Dare would never purposefully try to upset someone, but things happen, and sometimes her words come out in a way she didn’t want them to. She always apologizes when she does so, but it can take an inordinate amount of time for her to even realize that something she’s said or done has come out the wrong way.

Loud and proud, Dare is confident in both herself and those around her, and will not hesitate to shut down anyone who believes otherwise. Gaining her trust is simple enough, as she is very open to strangers and loves meeting new people - but although she is easygoing and friendly, she rarely gets close enough to others to a point where she would consider them a friend. She’s never really needed friends, anyways, not like there’s ever been anyone around who she could be friends with. She’s not opposed to the idea, of course, but she can’t help but feel a little hesitant whenever she’s introduced to someone new. Once she’s hit it off with someone, though, it’s a straight shot to them becoming her new best friend forever and ever. Though she may struggle with opening up to others, she is more than willing to make an attempt if she is asked by a friend; it’s the least she can do, after all, in exchange for the friendship they have given her.

About

Dare doesn’t talk about her life before meeting Ryan, and very few of the group - even Ryan himself - know anything about it. It’s not entirely that she doesn’t want them to know; it’s just that there’s nothing much to share, and she doesn’t see the point in opening up. She never really had a family, not even back in her old Primary Village, and even when she evolved and lived with other Dorimon, she was never particularly close to any of them. She’s never had anyone to look after her or care for her; she’s never even had a friend. For all her life, Dare has been on her own, traveling solo and avoiding other Digimon whenever she could.

She often feels a sort of bitter resentment about this, frustrated that nobody ever cared for her the way she wanted them to, despite everything she would give them in the hopes they’d warm up to her. For the most part, she’s able to bury this deep down, but it comes out when she least expects it to, and not always in a healthy way. She’s always had a feeling that there was someone she needed to find, but she never really expected that she would find them. All of that changed when she woke up one morning with the unexplainable urge to climb a mountain, knowing that she would find them at the summit. She didn’t know who they were to her or what they’d be like, but she was determined to find them anyways, no matter what.
