Personality

Castor has never been great at connecting with others. He hasn’t ever needed to, really, and as such he has virtually no idea how to accept the possibility of meeting new people and making new friends. It’s not that he doesn’t like people; he’s perfectly fine when getting to know strangers, and often flourishes in social situations. The issue lies in him not wanting to get to know others. Opening up is hard, and he would like to avoid doing so as much as possible. If he could be friends with others without having to deal with the deep intimacy of sharing his deepest darkest fears, that would be great - but considering who he’s partnered to, as well as the fact that he himself is remarkably terrible at concealing his feelings, that doesn’t seem to be possible.

In which lies the bigger issue: Castor struggles with impostor syndrome. A lot. He frequently questions whether he’s good enough for anything. Good enough to deserve friends, family, comfort, kindness - pretty much anything nice. Does anyone around him actually care for him? Is it all a facade they’re putting on so that he won’t feel bad? These questions have no easy answer, and Castor doesn’t even really want to know the answers. It’s more than that, too; anytime someone questions his decisions or thought process, he will shut down completely, acting as if he’s unbothered by their uncertainty but secretly wondering if they’re right and if he really does know what he’s doing.

Thus, Castor constructs a metaphorical wall around himself, hiding his true feelings from everyone around him and putting on an air of confidence. If someone cares enough to befriend Castor and slowly gain his trust, they will find that he is scarily loyal to those he loves, to the point where he would put his own life on the line if it would guarantee their safety. On top of this, Castor is quick to leap in and protect his friends if he feels they are threatened, though his sense of danger is a bit skewed, and he will oftentimes jump in even if the “threat” is someone disagreeing with their point of view. However, those who he has let his guard down around will quickly realize that under all his existential questioning and self-doubt is a sweet and charming individual who cares very deeply for those around him.

About

Castor was hatched in a small Primary Village south of the Hinterlands as a Botamon. He had a relatively easygoing life; he got along well enough with the other babies in the village, and the ExTyrannomon who looked after them made sure to attend to all their needs. One day, a notable Digimon named Aldamon came to the village, having some business to attend to there and in the neighboring town. Whenever he would visit the village to see the babies, Castor was practically inseparable from him, refusing to leave his side whenever ExTyrannomon asked or even when Aldamon had to leave. Aldamon never admitted it aloud, but he grew fond of Castor in turn.

When Aldamon was about to leave, Castor evolved into Koromon, so motivated and inspired by his heroism and the stories he told, and demanded to go back with him. To his surprise, Aldamon agreed, and the two returned to Aldamon’s home at the top of Twister Mountain. Castor confided in him that he’d always had a feeling he was supposed to meet someone, and Aldamon was intrigued, prompting him along whenever he’d fantasize about whoever it was. One day, Castor felt the need to go to Host Forest, knowing that it was almost time to meet them. Aldamon let him go, but made him promise that he would be safe and return once he found them. Castor agreed, and set off for the forest.
